It is my honor to welcome you to the first edition of The Hub, Global Talent Mentoring’s official newsletter. To help keep you informed, The Hub will provide regular updates on the program’s progress, share insights about mentoring, and send reminders about important dates. It is an exciting time right now, as we are in the midst of many key developments that are moving the program ahead. We look forward to sharing future editions of The Hub and thank you for being a valuable part of the Global Talent Mentoring network!

The Global Talent Mentoring network
|
To date, Global Talent Mentoring has secured eighteen official partnerships with institutions in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medical sciences (STEMM) in more than thirty countries on all continents. Such partnerships, like the one with our Danish partner Mikkel Bohm of Astra (pictured), provide Global Talent Mentoring with essential support through access to their networks of extraordinary students and experts who will participate as mentees and mentors. We are still in the process of expanding our partner network and continue to seek out top-tier STEMM institutions with whom to partner, such as universities, organizations, companies, and high schools for exceptionally talented youth. International Expert Meeting 2019
|
On September 13–15, 2019, Global Talent Mentoring hosted its International Expert Meeting in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Regensburg, Germany. Mentoring experts from Europe and the United States presented insights into their respective area of mentoring expertise and participated in in-depth discussion about mentoring and implementation of mentoring strategies in Global Talent Mentoring. Presentation and discussion topics comprised fostering successful relationships in online mentoring programs, mentoring highly talented students, and training STEMM experts for their service as mentors. The weekend also included evening activities, such as a cruise on the Danube River and a traditional Bavarian dinner. For more information on the event and participants, please visit our homepage.

Outstanding mentors are a vital part of what will make Global Talent Mentoring a success! We are actively seeking experts in STEMM fields (with a PhD or equivalent experience) who are highly motivated to mentor a student in his or her area of expertise. If someone you know would be a good mentor candidate, we kindly encourage you to pass along our Mentor Volunteer Form.
